Release date confirmed for Tom Hardy’s ‘Child 44′

‘Child 44’ to hit cinemas April 17^th 2015

The movie adaptation of the novel by Tom Rob Smith has finally been given a release date of April 17^th in US cinemas. The film stars Tom Hardy and Swedish actress turned Hollywood star Noomi Rapace, in the leading roles.

Also starring in the movie is Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Joel Kinnaman and Vincent Cassel. The script has been adapted by Richard Price from the original novel while it is being produced by Ridley Scott, Michael Schaefer and Greg Shapiro.

Hardy stars as Leo Demidov, a Russian secret police officer in 1950s Stalinist Russia, who’s framed for treason and sent to a remote outpost. This is where he uncovers a series of mysterious murders that are tied to a government conspiracy.

Child 44 will open against Sony’s Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 and Focus’ sci-fi film Selfless.
